Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How can I make a simple homemade breath spray/breath freshener?
I want to make some breath spray (is that what you call it?) by putting some mouthwash in a spray bottle. Would that work? My concern is that if I spray too much then I'll get a stomach ache for ingesting the mouthwash - or for ingesting /too much/ mouthwash.

If I did use mouthwash in a spray bottle, would it even freshen my breath? Obviously if you swish and/or gargle mouthwash, your breath will be fresh for awhile. Will the mouthwash be as potent if I spray it in my mouth rather than swishing & gargling?

If not, what other ways can I make a SIMPLE mouthwash with a little spray bottle to be able to use in the morning, after a meal, or just whenever?

    • ANSWER:
Sinus problems also contribute to bad breath. If you breathe through your mouth, it causes bad breath because the saliva dries up. That is a major cause of morning breath. I rinse with saline nasal spray every morning and at night. Gargle with equal parts warm water and peroxide. That will get the bacteria out of his throat. Use a tongue scraper and get as far back on the tongue as possible. Chewing gum helps because it makes you produce more saliva. If none of these things help, it may be a health issue and he should see a doctor.
